When you want to sell your house quickly, there are lots of things to consider. Your pets are an important part of your family, but they also require some work when it comes to selling your house. It’s important to follow these steps to ensure a quick sale.

Remove any pet odours

It’s good practice to give your home a deep clean before adding your home to the property market. If you have pets, it may be a good idea to invest in specialist cleaning products that eliminate odours. By treating soft furnishings and curtains with an enzyme cleaning product, you’re well on your way to freeing your home from pet odours you may have grown accustomed to. Think about hiring professional carpet cleaners to freshen up your floors. This will also help with any pet-related stains your carpets have.

Remove visible evidence of your pets

It may sound like an extreme measure, but removing your pet clutter can open up your property to a wider range of prospective buyers. Pop your pet’s bed, toys and food bowls away. Make sure you remove any litter trays. This is especially important before any photographs are taken of your home.

Don’t forget about your outside space! It is just as important to tidy your garden and ensure that all evidence of fouling has been removed. Double check any large borders and bushes for hidden chew toys. If you have dogs, why not freshen up your tired lawn? With seeding and frequent watering, it’ll be looking much tidier in no time.

Repair any pet damage

Whether your cat has clawed the sofa, or your dog has chewed a corner of the skirting, now is the time to make good any damage caused by your pets. If any furniture is damaged, consider removing it from the sale or hiring new pieces. Skirtings, architrave and doors may benefit from a light sanding and a lick of paint.

Not all potential buyers are animal lovers but, with these simple tips, you can be sure that you’re on your way to selling your home quickly.

Took the stress of worring about finding a buying with an estate agent away and after being sceptable at first we are delighted with how the process went with National Property Trade. Thanks to Oliver and the team.
We found on NPT when we did a search on the internet and decided to go with them because of their good reviews. We recommend them to somebody looking for a hassle-free sale. We dealt with Sam who was excellent.
I found you guys online via a search engine. I rang a couple of companies but the reason I went with you was the initial sales call. Jim came across friendly and knowledgeable without too much of a sales pitch, I felt he was honest. When I moved to the progression team after accepting the offer, you were both great. I’ve felt like I’ve had a personal service, not a stranger on the phone for a big company. I would recommend National Property Trade to anyone who wants a straight forward sale and especially a big thanks to both you and Oliver.
