Retiring-abroad

If you have finally taken the decision to move abroad, you may be looking for a quick house sale in the UK so you can purchase a property when you get to your new country, but it’s important to consider a few things before you make a final decision. Obviously moving abroad is an extremely big decision, potentially affecting all of your family not just those moving with you. Suddenly the thought of cutting ties with the UK can be extremely daunting and without the right planning it could prove to be a costly error.

The rental market in the UK has grown significantly over the last few years, as it has become much more difficult to secure a mortgage. Therefore it may be worth considering renting your home out in the UK before you choose to get a quick house sale, while you work out whether your move abroad is the right thing for you and your family. The option of renting can also be a good source of income which could potentially help with costs of setting up your new home abroad.

According to Martin Ellis from Halifax, the drop in home buying costs in recent years along with the increase in rent has improved the attractiveness of buying a home, but it seems that home buying remains lower than it was at the height of the market. Raising a deposit for a home and job security are the main concerns people have when looking to buy a home. If you are looking to rent out your house in the UK, this could be the perfect opportunity but may make it difficult to buy a house in the country you are relocating to, so you will probably need to rent a property in your new area. This has many advantages as you will initially have the chance to see whether you have made the right decision before you commit to selling your home in the UK and purchasing one abroad. It will also help you get to know the area fully where you are looking to move to and gives you the opportunity to try more than one area over the course of a few months.

Whatever you choose to do, you will benefit from getting advice in the country you are looking to rent in regarding finances, rules and obligations. And remember that they may vary in different regions of the same country. There are many agents within the UK who can give you advice on how the market works abroad as well as what you can do regarding the management of your home in the UK. You can also get help regarding setting up a bank account and selling your home quickly when the time comes. It’s a good idea to begin learning the new language as soon as possible, which will help with communication abroad, but providing you do plenty of research, you could end up making the best move of your life.

Our sale completed last Friday and I have to say we were very impressed with the whole service we received.
Just a very quick message to say I have now received your bank transfer of £10,000, thankyou so much! I must say I am incredibly impressed with your business model to date, and the concept in general is a stroke of pure genius and hopefully the way forward for more people to sell in the future. And you personally, of course, made what could have been a rather tedious and unpleasant process much more palatable - and I am supremely confident that you have a very bright future ahead of you Sam, richly deserved. With very best wishes
Valuers did not turn up for appointments, survey took two weeks to carry out, over a month from first contact to initial payment. Not a 7 day no hassle service at all, we wait to see how the assisted sale will pan out, but not optimistic.
